REDEFINING OLD DEFINITIONS. Too many of us are still hanging onto Old Definitions from our Past that are based on Outdated, Untrue Evidence. For example, you may have been told as a child that you were ugly; by either being picked on due to a physical difference or being rejected by the opposite sex. You learned to define beauty based on outward appearance or acceptance. Now, as an adult, you may be married to a spouse who thinks your gorgeous or have friends who accept you unconditionally, but your definition of beauty has still stayed the same; keeping you trapped in a mindset of self-hatred and self-destructive behavior. Just because you feel something, doesn’t make it true. Look for evidence to the Contrary and start Redefining your Past (Romans 12:2).
Romans 12:2 ESV: Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
